Tsuma Funa-goya (Traditional Boat Houses) 都万の舟小屋群
From Saigō Port - - 20 min - Bus Stop: Kamaya
On the bay in Tsuma area you can see 20 boat houses that were built using traditional technique and materials and feature thatched cedar bark roofs.

A nearby pine groove is said to have been planted by the legendary Yao Bikuni, a Buddhist Priestess, who is believed to have lived for 800 years.

Important Information
There is a small shop near the bay.

The bus stops right in front of the boat houses.
Please be aware that bus service is very infrequent. You can pick up a bus timetable at the Tourist Office.
