Kyōdo-kan Museum of Archaeology & Folklore 郷土館
From Saigō Port - 50min 25min Bus Stop: Mizuwakasu-jinja
Next to Mizuwakasu Shrine is an elegant western-style building. This is the old town hall that was built during the Meiji Period (1868 - 1912). It was dismantled and rebuilt in its current location and is now a museum with many historical and cultural artifacts on display. Behind the museum there is a traditional Oki-style Residence and a Bull Sumō Ground.

Closed: Weekends and Public Holidays from December - March Entry Fee: Adult ¥300, University/High School Student ¥200, Junior High/Elementary Student ¥100

Important Information
There is a cafe located next door in the Sōsei-kan Museum which is open for lunch. Bookings are recommended.

Walk about 5 minutes from Mizuwakasu-jinja Bus Stop. Please be aware that bus service is very infrequent. You can pick up a bus timetable at the Tourist Office.
