These waterfalls are located deep in the lush forest of Mt. Yokō in the Tsuma Area of Dōgo Island.

The largest waterfall (the male waterfall) falls vertically from the overhanging cliff. From the path underneath this overhang you can experience the water fall before you, encircled by the large eroded cliff face. Beside the male waterfall is the gently flowing female waterfall. The Dangyō Shrine building is nestled right in between these waterfalls.

The water of Dangyō-no-taki is regarded as sacred 'winning water' and before traditional competitions such as Traditional Oki Sumō or Bull Sumō, the competitors will come to drink it and pray at the shrine.
